Located in the Southeast Georgia Coast area, the Sr. Process Engineer performs engineering tasks to optimize mill performance and improve process capability, and also has a focus in process safety. Responsible for supporting the Operations, Maintenance, Environmental and Engineering teams to result in safe, effective, sustainable and cost effective operations. Senior process engineers will perform studies on the existing process to lower production costs by increasing yields, improving efficiency of raw material usage and reducing losses. Evaluate new processes, propose process changes and make pilot and full scale studies. Utilize analysis and problem solving tools. The senior process engineer will assist plant supervision in maintaining high standards for quality, environmental compliance, productivity, and safety. Assist in maintenance of mill quality control systems and their compliance within the ISO standard. Job Responsibilities 1.  Responsible for designing and analyzing manufacturing equipment to ensure the safety for those who are tasked with operating it.  2.    Assess the risk associated with manufacturing processes and help develop safe manufacturing protocols.  3.    Provide technical expertise to operations to help evaluate risks and cost-effectively resolve PS / PP issues, including recommendations from PHAs, audits and incident investigations.  4.    Responsible for implementing new processes and projects to improve product quality, customer satisfaction, operating efficiency, productivity cost position and environmental performance.  5.    Performs a broad range of management assignments including operations and financial analysis, strategic planning, and business development for the Jesup Mill. Required Qualifications BS in Chemical , Mechanical, Manufacturing or related degree. Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering, process safety engineering, or operations in pulp & paper or chemical industries Requires ability to understand and apply professional, technical and financial philosophies and procedures in relation to safe processes and operations.
